Disinfection & Sanitisation

Surface disinfection carried out as a defined, recorded procedure — either as a standalone visit or layered onto an existing cleaning contract.

Overview

Disinfection and sanitisation for homes, offices and shared premises.

Disinfection is not the same task as cleaning, and doing one does not achieve the other. A surface has to be cleaned before a disinfectant can work on it, and the product then has to stay wet on that surface for the contact time printed on its label. Wiping it straight off is the most common reason disinfection achieves nothing.

Hope Star works to that sequence: clean, apply, observe the contact time, then finish. Touchpoints — handles, switches, rails, lift panels, taps, shared equipment — are treated individually rather than sprayed in passing, and larger spaces can be fogged where the room and its contents allow.

Every visit is recorded with the areas covered, the product used and the date, so managed premises have a document rather than an assurance.

Key benefits

Why customers ask for it

Contact time observed
Products are left wet for the time their label requires, which is what makes them work.
Cleaned first
Soiling is removed before disinfectant is applied, rather than being sealed under it.
Touchpoints by hand
Handles, switches and rails are treated individually instead of being sprayed in passing.
Recorded, not assumed
Each visit leaves a dated record of what was treated and with what.

Method

How the work is carried out

  1. 01

    Map the touchpoints

Surfaces are listed by contact frequency so the highest-risk points are treated first.

  2. 02

    Select the product

A disinfectant appropriate to the surfaces and the setting is chosen and its contact time noted.

  3. 03

    Clean the surface

Soiling is removed first, because disinfectant applied over dirt does not reach the surface.

  4. 04

    Apply and wait

Product is applied and left for the full contact time before anything is wiped or handled.

  5. 05

    Record the visit

Areas, products and the date are logged and issued to you for your own records.
